Pilgrimage offering to “San Antonio el chico” in Mogan
Published in Living in Gran Canaria, News
This Saturday the beautiful typical Canarian village of Mogan will host its 31st “Romeria” (Pilgrimage offering), one of the most special & traditional “Romerias” in the whole of the island.
19 floats from Mogan, neighbouring villages and other parts of the island will be participating and thousands of traditionally dressed people will bring the streets alive with folklore songs, dancers and the beautiful sounds from the Canarian guitars and other instruments.
Over the last few years the Romeria has been held on a Sunday but this year the Town Hall agreed to hold the event on Saturday due to a huge public demand. This year extra security will be provided to intensify traffic control and help coordination. Increased parking areas have been made available in Puerto de Mogán. A continuous bus service will also be provided between Puerto Mogan and the village from 16.00 to 20.00 hours with return journeys between 23.00 to 02.00 hours.
A church service will be held at 18.30 hours followed by the “Romeria” starting at 19.00 hours.
A full program of events and activities held during the “Fiestas” in Mogan which run from the 31st of May to the 16th of June can be seen on the following link:
