Fresh from the surprise news that Lopesan has acquired the Lyng family’s share of Anfi del Mar, it now emerges that it also controls the redevelopment project for the Arguineguín marina.
Lopesan, via its Puerto Deportivo de Arguineguín company, plans to invest 17 million euros to create a new marina with 355 berths, a separate fishing quay with room for 50 boats, plus an area for new shops and restaurants.
The project includes removing the barriers between Las Marañuelas beach and the harbour area. It has official support and work is expected to start in late 2016 or next year.
Puerto Deportivo de Arguineguín has also applied for permits to create artificial beaches at Medio Almud and Los Frailes, and for a 50-year concession to profit from the development. It plans to invest four million euros in the two beaches.
